• "We have stayed in this property several times before, this time we came for Christmas!"

  We were greeted by the friendly Coast & Country team who checked that everything was ok for us before going on their break. There was a wonderful hamper left in the apartment for us full of special Devon Xmas treats! Thank you so much! The view watching the Santa steam train was amazing, we wouldn’t hesitate spending Xmas in this apartment again. It is extremely comfortable, and very well equipped, and very easy to cook the Christmas dinner! The new fibre Wi-Fi is great, the only thing I would suggest it that the tv could be upgraded. Thank you for another wonderful stay!

• "The shower was backing up so we stopped using it, we meant to mention this when we left."

• "We had a lovely stay at 42,Dart Mariner Apartment (Excellent) Very clean tidy and comfortable everything you need is threre."

  There is also a Lift if needed. A little gripe is the balcony doors could do with some maintenance as they were slightly hard to close and lock. This was our second visit to Dart Mariner the Location is superb. The pop up bar and the floating bridge pub were excellent.The beer and the fish and chips were perfect. 7minute walk into town for boat trips Shopping and M.S food.

• "Showing its age now."

  The WiFi is Dreadful & so annoying. The showers back up! Noises with trades people shouting & banging outside from about 6am. There are now nicer places to stay in Dartmouth. Shame. But we won’t be back.

• "Great property and we had a lovely week Positives - great location, parking, was able to charge my car via the hotel, quick response from maintenance (bathroom light wasn’t working), checked in slightly earlier (always a bonus), property was wonderful Feedback - internet is poor, this isn’t a nice to have anymore, it's expected and should be improved asap."

  For anyone staying then I cheated by logging on to the hotel WiFi which was much faster

• "This apartment has everything you need."

  I'm glad to see that it had a bigger than normal fridge freezer which was important to us as we took a lot of our own food, so many of these apartments on the complex only have an under the counter fridge. Very clean and well maintained. The only downside was that there were no cooking dishes that could go in the oven, maybe a couple could be added to the kitchen, especially for the colder months when maybe you want to cook something warming.

• "Sky package is very limited."

  Please note sky connection setting is HDMI 1,not HDMI 2 as stated in information pack. We have stayed in many holiday accommodation in South Hams and this ranks as one of the best.We are likely to return in the future

• "We stayed at 42 Dart Marina from 21st to 28th June."

  We were lucky that we had good weather. As soon as we arrived (after a long journey), we felt immediately comfortable. The accommodation was of a very high standard, well equipped and very clean. The view from the living room Juliet balcony was great. The gap in the roofline of the houses opposite meant that we had a clear view of the steam train and the ferry. We had a lovely holiday. Dartmouth has plenty to explore. We hope to return and would definitelly choose 42 Dart Marina.

• "As usual, apartment clean & comfortable."

  However, as regular users, feel that guests should be given a choice re weight & Tog rating of the duvets. We found 10.5 tog duvets on the beds which, in our opinion, are far too hot for use in Summer months. Suggest thinner duvets provided to use, if preferred.

• "In the visitors book, the owners, invite suggestions for improvement."

  We keep returning at least once a year and have only one suggestion to make which is that summer-weight duvets are provided during warmer months, thus giving visitors a choice between the existing 10.5tog duvets and for example, 4.5 tog.

• "We’ve stayed in several of the Dart Marina properties with Coast and Country over the last 15 years and this has to be up there with the best."

  Some of them are in need of a refresh but this one is utterly superb. It’s clear the owners are keen to impress guests and make us feel as comfortable as possible. The property felt fresh and welcoming and instantly you feel at home. Impossible to ever tire of the view! We will most definitely return to this property again soon, we won’t feel the need to look anywhere else. Really well done!

• "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 42 Dart Marina and are hoping to return again."

  The property was lovely and most comfortable. We have no complaints whatsoever. The only things I would mention are that the door was little difficult to unlock. Once we had mastered the technique by pulling the door towards you then that was fine. The other thing being that the doorbell did not work. It just meant that when my husband went out on a few errands without the key he could not alert me to let him in and had ring my mobile phone. These are not complaints just a couple of things which may need a little attention. I certainly left things in very good order before we left, i.e, disinfecting the rubbish bins, wiping out the fridge and washing all of the oven trays. Not that we had used them because we did eat out rather consistently. It was lovely because of the situation of No.42 we did still have a small view of the river. Most enjoyable and thank you again because we would happily return.

• "Hi, We felt it was a great place to stay."

  It is very well equipped. The beds are very comfortable. Pillows not as comfy and the duvet was strange as it was two single ones put into the cover sideways but that really didn’t detract from our stay. Lovely and quiet but that could be the time of year and so much to do both in Dartmouth and nearby. The only thing I have marked the cleanliness bit down was I felt the bathroom floor were sticky. A helpful point is when you have the main lights in the left hand bedroom as you look at them on full they flicker badly. All in all a lovely place to stay. Thank you.

• "Apartment very spacious, comfortable and nicely furnished."

  Lovely big beds and the bathrooms were great. The open plan living and kitchen area was really spacious and a pleasure to sit in and the view from the Juliet balcony was lovely. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed. The location was perfect. We really enjoyed our stay.

• "A beautiful apartment, very tastefully decorated."

• "As a family of four we had a fabulous stay, apartment had everything we needed, so clean and comfortable."

• "Easy to check in/ key collection and return."

• "The apartment was great."

  Sadly the fridge is rather small and needs replacing as the freezer section does not work. The frost builds up very quickly as you cannot close the door. This happened in apartment 45 as well when we stayed there last year. We mentioned this last year and this year. The response was that the previous occupant did not close the door properly. Unfortunately the fridges are old. We stayed in the apartments at least 15 years ago when they were relatively new. Fridges don’t go on forever!!!!

  Lovely views with a modern and simple layout for a grown up family of 4. Beds split as requested and oven cleaned, thank you. The only improver would be a more thorough pre-clean vacuum.

• "We were perfectly happy with Sykes in general, However on arrival we were early and it started some light rain."

  At 20 minutes to four we found ourselves near your office and I decided to call in to see if we could get the keys early. I was advised that they didn't know if the cleaning had been finished and that we should go to the Marina, park the car in the alloted space and walk back. It seemed to me that if the cleaning wasn't finished the cleaner may well be parked in our alloted space and walking back in rain also wasn't too appealing and I had to be a little forceful in requesting that this be checked now while I was at your office. The office staff were pleasant about it and did as I requested and we got the keys early. By the time we got in the appartment it was 4 pm anyway and I shouldn't have really had to force the issue. The appartment was generally well cleaned and quite satisfactory but the oven was far from that and we had to do some cleaning before we felt it could be used and even then we bought a roll of kitchen foil to place food on as it really needed a deep clean. Even then, when the oven was in use it emitted an unpleasant odour which appeared to be a mix of differant foods that it had previously hosted. We also noticed in other reviews that the condition of the oven had been previously mentions which doesn't instill confidence. Although the description does not state there is a freezer when paying the top end of the price range it is normal to expect a freezer, especially when the fridge is also smaller than average small fridge with only two selves and the top section taken up by an ice box. If we had been a family with children we could have been in trouble. Never the less we really enjoyed our stay at Dart Marina and were very comfortable at number 42. We would deffinately use Sykes again.

The cleaners have been informed about the oven and, in addition, we have arranged for the oven to be cleaned with a professional oven cleaning company shortly to rectify any remaining problems. Regarding the comments about the fridge we are looking at whether there is space in the property to provide a small freezer. • "Dartmouth is a beautiful location but can be busy during the day."

  However, 42 Dart Marina is away from the hustle and bustle in a quiet location with beautiful views from the living room over the river Dart. All amenities are close by with the added bonus of a wonderful flat walk from the Marina to Bayards Cove a wonderful place to sit and watch the world go by. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting a peaceful holiday close to the sea.

• "Access is at the rear and lift light was not working (total darkness) Oven base needed cleaning En suite floor not cleaned Some glasses need replacing The original booking was for June 2020 which had to be cancelled due to COVID, carrying it forward to May 2021 resulted in an exorbitant 16% increase in the charge for the week."

  The marina and parking are good.

  Thank you for your comments. The issue of the lift light was taken up with the Dart Marina Hotel and has been rectified. Cleaning issues have also been taken up with those concerned and the glasses provided will be checked and restocked as necessary. Regarding the price increase since last year, Coast & Country Cottages set fees depending on market conditions. One of the reasons for higher costs this year is provisions for Covid compliance.
