Beneath the Olive Tree

Old meets new in the most glorious fashion at this lovingly-restored Paxiot stone cottage perched high in the hillsides yet just a five-minute drive from the postcard-pretty shores and harbour of Lakka.

Nestled within olive groves as ancient as the hills surrounding them, the setting of this villa couldn’t feel more secluded. But when you’re ready to dip your toes into island life, the bustling authentic tavernas of Lakka are an easy twenty-minute downhill stroll – though perhaps a little longer uphill when tummies are full. And just a smidge further, you'll find the pretty harbours and beaches of Loggos and Gaios should you fancy a change of scene.

Back home, this cottage has charm and character in spades, with lofty, vaulted ceilings, exposed stone walls and fresh, crisp white interiors uniting the space. But it’s outside beside the stunning pool fringed with fragrant, mature gardens where we think you’ll be spending most of your time. Sunny mornings (of which there will be many) begin beneath that shady terrace for lazy breakfasts (mimosa, anyone?) before hopping between the sun-kissed terraces and that cool blue pool. And don’t even get us started on the fiery Paxos sunsets from here – alfresco dining never looked so good.
