Look up ‘idyllic’ in the dictionary and you’ll probably find a picture of this dreamy home we spotted on the outskirts of Neviano, deep in the heart of rural Puglia. Surrounded by ancient pines and fragrant geraniums, this place is the perfect setting for a relaxing holiday with family or friends, offering a total escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Inside, neutral tones and cool, tile floors give this home a rustic quality which is only heightened by the gorgeous, stone fireplace that acts as a focal point for the open-plan living area. As much as we love the interior though, it’s the outside space that really captured our imagination, boasting an elegant patio with plenty of sun loungers for making the most of the Italian sunshine. Settle in for a day of sunbathing or slip into your swimming costume and cool off with a quick dip in the pool before firing up the grill for an alfresco lunch with all your favourite people. Delizioso! If you fancy getting out and about during your stay, you’re within easy reach of Nardò and Gallipoli, two of Puglia’s best-known towns. Set off for a day of sightseeing or make a... beeline for the nearest beach and spend the afternoon topping up your tan by the Ionian Sea before heading home for an evening aperitivo.
