  • "Bohans Barn is fabulous accomodation."

    A large dwelling that is extremely comfortable and cosy and very well equipped. The garden is amazing… the views spectacular. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Eamon and Gillian are so accomodating and friendly always ready to help with directions or share their local knowledge. We simply cannot fault Bohans Barn.

Settled in a secluded spot, surrounded by rich woodland in the village of Attishane, County Mayo is this charming, detached farmhouse, Bohans Barn.

On arrival, you will be greeted by ample off-road parking and stables, home to horses Lily, Blossom and Faith, so be sure to say hello!

Step inside the back door to discover a utility room, a handy place to wash and dry your clothes after a day’s adventure, which leads on to the spacious kitchen/diner.

Rustle up heart-warming meals with an electric oven and hob to assist you; afterwards settle down at the dining table to tuck-in and admire the warmth of the woodburning stove.

Moving through the property, locate the sitting room, here you can curl up on a plush sofa in front of the Smart TV or escape into a book on the armchair with the flicker of the woodburning stove in the background.

As eyes grow tired, climb upstairs, and relax your muscles in the tub or rinse the day away in the walk-in shower, where a towel can wait on the heated rail for a warm embrace.

When sleep calls, choose between a super-king-size bed, which can be a twin for flexible sleeping arrangements, another super-king-sized bed with an en-suite, or a twin bedroom with two four-foot beds.

CROSSMOLINA, COUNTY MAYO

Ballina 7 miles;

Crossmolina is a small town in the county Mayo countryside. Each year it hosts the Crossmolina festival which is fun for all ages. Just a short drive away is Ballina, famous for its warm welcome and known for its location, resting on the River Moy. The area is a haven for fishing enthusiasts, with the internationally-recognised River Moy known as one of the best salmon fishing areas in Europe, producing several thousand salmon annually, while the nearby Lough Conn is also home to salmon and brown trout when in season. There is a rich variety of pubs, shops and restaurants available in the town and a number of historic attractions draw thousands of visitors each year, including the impressive St Muredach's Cathedral which stands imposingly on the banks of the river, plus the Céide Fields, which is the most extensive stone age monument in the world is nearby. The town hosts a number of festivals through the year, culminating in a spectacular frenzy of activity during its July festival - a week long feast of free entertainment for the entire family including music, song, theatre, art, heritage, culture and novelty events.
