• "We have stayed in a few holiday lets over the years and in our opinion The Beach House beats the lot."

  Good value for money if you like a bit of comfort and somewhere warm and cosy. We tend to go over the winter months so this is ideal. And there is now a nice coffee shack in the car park a few hundred yards down the lane by the beach which is a great way to end your walk and have a chat with the locals. We will be back soon.

  Once the dogs realised you could get a side order of sausages to takeaway from the Bowgie Inn it became a daily pilgrimage they somehow led me to across the far side of the beach.

  The property has everything you need for a comfortable holiday. Small welcome pack included biscuits for both us and our dog and some jam and marmalade. Kitchen equipped with a dishwasher which was a great help and everything needed to prepare meals. Comfortable bed but watch your head as one side is below a sloped ceiling, bumped my head a few times. All in all a great place to stay and near the two pubs in the village. We had a lovely stay. Thankyou for having us and we will definitely return.

  The property is spotlessly clean, exactly as described and probably one of the closest property's you will get to Crantock beach. We stayed with our dogs and everything is on hand with Janis & Godfrey and absolute delight - a thoroughly lovely couple. Cant wait for our next stay!

  Janis was a great host. The house was lovely, everything we needed. A washing machine would of been a plus. Crantock beach was a short walk down the hill and the dogs absolutely loved it. The cafe by the beach was a nice stop off for a drink. Crantock village was very pretty. The C bay restaurant was a great place to eat and the views wonderful. We could of done with a bit more sunshine! But we had a relaxing, wonderful holiday and would definitely stay again. One small thing that would of been nice was two comfortable sun loungers for the decking. Thank you Janis.

• "Absolutely perfect accommodation set in a stunning village."

  Beach - 5 minute walk. Two pubs - 3 minute walk. (The Old Albion is a cozy thatched pub with a brilliant menu). Village shop - 3 minute walk. If you need more then Newquay is only a 10 minute drive. Everything to make your stay a home-from-home is provided. The friendly owners asked if we had everything we needed and gave us helpful local advice and recommendations. They provided milk, biscuits and treats for our dog on arrival. The weather was absolutely freezing but the detached annex was snug and warm. The king size bed is so comfortable! The electric reclining sofa is a lovely luxury and the new TV has loads of channels and access to Netflix, Amazon, etc. The entire property has had an entire makeover. It is modern but practical and beautifully presented. Loved the roomy rainfall shower and free-standing bath. Very handy being able to park directly outside on a driveway. We had a large dog with us and it was easy to walk him down the road to grass areas. The beach is wonderful and there are plenty of walks to nearby villages. Crantock is fairly central in Cornwall, so day trips to the south and west coasts, Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Helligan etc. is possible. The Beach House was the perfect stay.

  The house is compact but has everything you might need. The owner has really considered what guests might need and tried to provide. We thought it was the most thoughtfully stocked of any house we have stayed in. In summer it will be perfect for the beach but it was lovely for us in the middle of winter. There really are many reasons why this place makes a super stay.

  Firstly I would like to thane the owners communication was spot on even received a phone call on the day to say the previous tenants had left early which meant we could have early check in as all was ready. Greeted on arrival just to say welcome and anything we needed just knock. When you enter its lovely and bright amazingly spotless and nice fresh feel. This is perfect for 2 people with great detail gone into everything every room suits the beech house and in an ideal for the beech and the local amenities and a big bonus having your own parking space right outside your door. Looking at dates next year to re book.

  Just 5mins walk to the beach as well as a shop and two pubs - what more do you need? The house is very well equipped with a very comfortable king size bed in a spacious attic room, the reclining settee was super comfy, the kitchen is well equipped and the bathroom is spacious - nice to have a large shower AND bath. There is nothing I would suggest to improve, it was immaculately clean and very well presented. The owners Janis and Godfrey are very friendly, helpful, warm and generous hosts. • "Janis made us & the hound feel so welcome when we arrived."

  The cottage is in an enviable location. A few minutes to either the beach pubs or well stocked local store. It’s a bright and airy cottage which as well as being fresh & clean was superbly equipped. The appliances, Crockery, cutlery, are high end. The bed is really comfy with great pillows & a Hypnos mattress. There are some nice little touches too like being left things you need when you arrive….tea towels, a hose outside to get the sand off & most importantly, everything for a tea or coffee after your journey. Even a jug of fresh milk in the kitchen. The village itself is really pleasant. Two great pubs which are both dog friendly & produce great food drinks with superb staff who bend over backwards to make sure you enjoy your lunch or dinner. The beach & estuary are really stunning & again, dog friendly all year round. I would recommend this property & Crantock to everyone. We had a superb relaxing stay. There is some building work next door but the builders are friendly & considerate & the work is going on inside so it doesn’t affect your relaxation. Hope this gives you some info & sorry if I rambled on a bit but if you enjoy Cornwall you should really visit. Have a great hol as we did. Mark Ruff.(we stayed mid October)

• "We had a lovely week staying at The Beach house."

  The house was very well equipped, plenty of room and absolutely spotless owners Janis and Godfrey clean and look after the house to a very very high standard! The drive way is shared with the owners but has plenty of room for two family sized cars. We had a phone call to say that the property was ready and that we could check in earlier than the stated check in time which is always great after a long journey to Cornwall. On arrival we were greeted by Janis who was very friendly and helpful she also shared her local knowledge about the local area and suggestions of places to visit and pubs/restaurants to eat at during out stay. There were coffee pods for the Tasimo coffee machine, ground coffee, biscuits, washing up liquid, sponge, dishwasher tablets, tea towels and a dog treat for our four legged friend waiting inside for us not sure what else the previous reviewer wanted from a welcome pack as everything had been taken care of for us. The bed is very comfortable, the bed linen, towels were all very clean, the reclining sofa is also very comfortable. The bathroom and shower were absolutely spotless, there was even a doggy mat to place the dogs food and water bowls on. Owners Janis and Godfrey are two of the nicest people that we have ever met very welcoming and friendly passed each other most days when walking the dog as they were walking theirs. Can not recommend this property enough! we will 100% be returning in the near future.

• "We were disappointed there was no welcome package."

  Even when we have stayed in low budget accommodation we have had one. When I pulled onto the small drive I was a bit nervous as the owner stood watching with arms folded & first words were "Are you going to leave it there?" Then she said it was ok which it obviously wasn't (moved it next day as we had long journey there). Not really dog friendly - I felt so uncomfortable at first that our dog might jump onto the new sofa & might go upstairs - this is clearly a 'no no'. You will know what I mean when you meet the owner - whose property is sooo overlooking the converted garage we stayed in. No real privacy unless you're inside & at currently not even then. Builders are working on property next door so we had to keep the velux window blind in bedroom closed or they would have seen us in all our glory! Of course there was nothing the owner could do about that. We thought the enclosed decking area was larger than it actually was and the wall is low - our dog is small but could easily jump over. Nowhere for her to do her 'business'. HOWEVER - the 'cottage' has been converted beautifully - if smaller than it looks on photos; immaculately clean & the most comfy bed! Two minute walk to the beach & a pub up the road that does decent food. Not for us again as I like to feel 'private' in the accommodation & also like to feel welcome - which we didn't really.

Peaceful little village with everything you need, from a corner shop to two pubs.. the Cornishman was our fav! and jam jar is lovely place to get a pizza and coffee. The Beach House was lovely. Janis was really helpful and gave us some great advice about the local area. The kitchen was really well equipped with all we needed, although I electric hob was bit hard to use. The house felt very clean and fresh. We loved chilling on the evening in the reclining sofa. Thanks for a lovely stay.

  This is by far the very best holiday accommodation we have stayed at in the last five years. We had two dogs with us and the property and amenities were perfect. The owners Janice and Godfrey live next door and couldnt have been more helpful and yet very respectful of our privacy. The property is spotlessly clean with alot of thought has gone into ensuring the stay is comfortable. Its a short walk to the two village pubs, shop and Jam Jar for lovely cakes, coffee or pizza. Dog walks are wonderful - a few minutes to Crantock Beach, the coastal walk to Polly Joke or the Gannel walk with Newquay a short drive away or walking via the Gannel at low tide and a small bridge. Driveway parking is just outside, this is shared with the hosts but you both have your section of the driveway to park very easily, there are also open views to the field opposite which is lovely to watch the local fox's and wildlife sunbath. A sincere thank you to our hosts, like many other reviews and feedback, we will be back next year!

We have stayed lots of times at this lovely holiday let and the hosts Janice and Godfrey are fabulous people very helpful and friendly and are always willing to help with anything asked of them! The beach house is very well equipped, clean and extremely comfortable and literally a few hundred metres from the beach, dog walks and amenities. I would have no hesitation in recommending the beach house to anyone.

  Easy walk to village with local well stocked shop and pub. Property was very clean and tidy, lovely and warm despite poor weather.Plenty of hot water. Kitchen has everything you needed to cook meals. Owners who live next door were very helpful and polite. Good adherence to covid safety. This delightful property has everything you need to enjoy a relaxing and enjoyable holiday break. We hope to return soon.

• "Lovely property close to beach, shop and local Inn."

  There are fabulous walks on the door step. However, we were disturbed every night by the Parish Church bells, these would sound every half hour throughout the night. We were informed by the locals get use to this, as visitors we didn't. We feel this should be pointed out to any potential future guests. This is certainly not a lower priced property, it is a lovely property. But thè potential disturbance should definately be mentioned prior to accepting bookings.. The owners do not currently specify this as a possible problem, in our opinion they should do. The property location is an excellent base, we nearly didn't use the car wll week.

  The comfort and cleanliness and location so close to the beach are fantastic and always assured a warm welcome from the owners. The wi fi is great too so was able to get Netflix and do some work on the lap top during the worse of the October storms.

• "It's been 3 weeks since we returned from The Beach House and in that time we have not come up with any negative comments whatsoever."

  Our stay was absolutely wonderful, from start to finish. The owners greeted us with a very warm welcome outside the property and upon entering The Beach House you could not help to notice just how clean everything was. A Covid safe environment is definitely at the forefront of the owners mind and it immediately put us at ease. This was our second stay at TBH and we are very much looking forward to a third stay next year, but I feel we may struggle to get a booking as this is such a great place and fantastic reviews won't help this, but we can only say what we think: Superb property, Ultra clean, Everything you could ever need and best of all Great owners.a real credit to you Godfrey and Janice.   The owners made us feel very welcome and wanted to make sure we enjoyed our stay - we did! Crantock is a lovely village, with pub, shop, and places to eat. The coastline views are spectacular when you take a walk over towards Holywell. We are looking to return next year - nothing but praise for this beautiful house, and location.

  Great facilities in vilaage to eat, drink and shop, you could park the car and not use it all week if you wished. Great beach, busy but so big that there is no need to get close to anyone. The accommodation was immaculate, modern, light, airy, clean, comfortable-the photos barely do it justice. The owners were really welcoming and obviously wanted us to enjoy our stay which we certainly did.

• "Had a fantastic week here with my husband and 2 dogs."

  Cottage had everything you needed and was spotlessly clean. We had rung the owner a week before arrival to say we were bringing our own bedding. The sitting out area was a suntrap on the afternoon and would often sit out with a glass of gin or wine and enjoy the sunshine. The beach road outside the cottage was always busy with queuing traffic but you were still able to get on and off drive. Couple of minutes walk to the lovely beach which was very dog friendly. A couple of pubs in the village, we only tried one and a shop where you could get your basics. Big Morrisons only a 10 minute drive away. Would highly recommend cottage to friends.

• "We have just spent a week at The Beach House and found that Sykes have got it wrong."

  Sykes advertised this property as 5 ticks, but this was not true. If should be 6+ on a five star rating. The property is fabulous, with attention to detail in its finish, clenleness and overall welcoming feel, it really is a credit to the owners. The owners, who we met, could not have been more hospitable if they had tried. The Beach House is a real gem, but please don't book it when we want to come back (already booked for next year it was that good) and almost forgot to mention, very dog friendly, provided they are well behaved). Cannot reckoned this property enough. Thanks for a great stay. Paul, Jacky and Alfie.

  .but I was mislead by the pictures which made it appear to have a garden which lead to the beach..no garden nowhere for the do to go out and have a wee just a very small decking... pictures of the outside were very misleading. Each dog friendly cottage we have atayed at before, we were sllowed to leave our very old very well behaved dog in the house as he is just too old to be dragged around all day. But they were heartless so not dog freindly at all as far as we were concerned

• "An excellent appartment in a great location."

  Has everything you want for a holiday at any time of the year. Janus, the lady proprietor was lovely and was available at anytime to answer ant queries we may have had as her house is adjacent to the appartment. The appartment is only about 100 yards from the beach and a few minutes walk from the village. We went at Xmas time and the village lights are superb. It was just like visiting a 'Winter Wonderland'! All in all a lovely place to stay and we intend going back there again in the summer.

  The work has been done to a very high standard and everything has been done thoughtfully to make your holiday extra special. The position is first class, just 4 mins to the dog friendly beach one way and in the opposite direction 2 pubs, tea rooms and local shop. The owners who live next door are very helpful and friendly without interfering. Looking at other cottages for next year I doubt we'll find anything to match up, the Beach House has spoilt us so we'll certainly be back I would recommend it to even the fusiest holiday maker!

  Wonderful location close to most beautiful beach ( 3 mins walk) and village amenities similar distance . Great local pub. Accommodation is lovely. Spacious downstairs living area/ kitchen and large bedroom upstairs. All very clean and modern. Owners live next to property . This would normally put me off slightly but Janis and Godfrey are most welcoming and do not intrude in any way. They are there if you need anything or need any local knowledge. My only comment, but not a criticism as it is a personal point of view, is that there is no clothes washer/ dryer.There is a dishwasher ,but for 2 people I would rather have facility to wash clothes than wash dishes. As it happened we had great weather so no dirty muddy walking clothes. I highly recommend The Beach house as a fantastic place to stay.

  Well equipped and comfortable but marked it down slightly on accuracy as is advertised as having wifi but there is only wifi signal in the bedroom. Wasn't a big problem for me (quite nice to shut off from the world!) but my husband is self employed and wifi was a key driver when choosing our holiday. Needs a booster or its own supply. Everything else couldn't be faulted on this lovely place owned by a lovely couple!

  Janis and Godfrey were very helpful upon arrival and were on hand if we needed them but also left left us to it and did not intrude which was great. The house is very close to the beach (a couple of miutes walk) and the village in the opposite direction. We have already booked for next year.
