Llanmihangel sits between the historic towns of Cowbridge and Llantwit Major. Cowbridge (3.5 miles) offers a variety of independent shops and boutiques as well as a wide array of places to eat and drink. Llantwit Major (3 miles) is home to the oldest college in the UK and one of the finest beaches in Wales for Jurassic fossils, whilst providing a selection of good pubs, shops, and access to the railway with links to Cardiff and Swansea. Pack a picnic and head to any of the beautiful beaches along the Glamorgan Heritage Coast including Ogmore By Sea (10 miles) which is popular for horse riding, Southerndown (8 miles) popular with surfers, and Monknash (5 miles), a secluded beach accessed via a picturesque woodland walk. Stepping from the driveway into the glass fronted property, you enter a stylish and modern, open plan living area that still pays tribute to its magnificent history. Sit back and relax on the colourful velvet furniture while someone else rustles up a delicious meal which can be enjoyed together on the large farmhouse style table. The kitchen is well equipped with an induction hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. Above the kitchen sits a cosy mezzanine TV room, a great place to snuggle up and enjoy a good movie. Down a few stairs, you will find the master bedroom complete with a king size bed with an en suite wet room and WC. This level also has the family bathroom equipped with a bath and a separate shower, together with a washer/dryer. Along the corridor is access to a sun terrace for relaxing or al fresco dining whilst taking in the amazing sounds and views of the woodland and stream. At the lower level of the property is a twin bedroom and a reception room with a wood burner to sit and relax around in the original miller s cottage, which could also double as a meditation or reading room with its floor to ceiling glass windows, allowing you to feel totally connected with the nature around you. Outside, a patio area near the stream, and close to the remains of the old water wheel that powered the mill, provides a glorious second outdoor seating area to dine, relax and enjoy an evening glass of wine amidst the canopy of trees. The original pathway from the miller s cottage up through woodland takes you to the front area of the mill and offers more interesting glimpses into this property s history. Those interested in Forest School activities, this is the ideal location for your children to practise their skills. There is off road parking for two cars to the front of the property.
