Cottage in Dorset: Corfe Castle
addremove
This lovely cottage is a short stroll from the village square in picturesque Corfe Castle, a pretty and historic village which nestles among the Purbeck Hills and is renowned for its castle ruins and thatched cottages. This is a fantastic walking area and you can walk directly from the cottage to join footpaths to the nearby downs and to the coastal path a couple of miles away. This beautiful area of coastline, extending from Swanage to Weymouth, is part of the spectacular Jurassic Coast England s first natural World Heritage Site. The four miles of sandy beach at Studland are a short drive away, as is the charming seaside resort of Swanage where you can enjoy swimming, fishing, boating and diving. On entering this lovely Grade II listed cottage, which dates back to 1780 and retains several original features including beams, flagstone floors and an open fire, you will find yourself in the bright and welcoming lounge. With plenty of comfy seating, open fire and TV/DVD, this is a delightful space to relax in after a fantastic day out. You will also find a charming dining room, and the kitchen is fully equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge. A washing machine and freezer are also provided. There is also a ground floor WC with basin. Heading up the narrow cottage stairs you will find a cosy double bedroom and a bathroom complete with bath, walk in shower and WC. A further flight of stairs, which are fairly steep, lead up to a spacious attic twin bedroom which extends across the length of the cottage and has attractive views in the distance. This room has a small en suite shower room, with restricted head room, and is equipped with a walk in shower and WC. Stepping outside, you will find a small enclosed garden at the rear of the cottage with a lovely sun room. The garden is paved and has a gravel area which accommodates the garden furniture so you can dine in the sunshine. A garden gate offers direct access via a small pathway on to the delightful Corfe Castle Common where children can play games and you can stroll down to the village centre. Unallocated off road parking is available for one car in front of the cottage.
