Days can be spent hopping between the vineyards of the Val d’Orcia or day-tipping to the UNESCO village of Castiglione d'Orcia, a short drive away. This Tuscan farmhouse is surrounded by forest-clad hills, creating a beautiful view from the myriad terraces and patios where you can dine and recline. A private pool awaits for hot days and there’s a barbecue with a view. Pietro and Gaia are a delight - he’s a painter and responsible for a lot of the art on display, and she’s done all manner of things work-wise, and is a qualified architect and tailor. They own a handful of homes across Italy that they rent out and so are extremely experienced hosts. Though it might not always be them checking you in - they often use a lockbox system - they are always available via phone for their guests if they have any questions, great or small.
