Area
The small village of Cockshutt is surrounded by beautiful Shropshire countryside and has many of the features of a traditional village with a pub, village hall, primary school and a parish church. Just five miles away is the pretty market town of Ellesmere, which offers Tudor, Georgian and Victorian buildings, a lovely church and a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, and is surrounded by its famous meres or lakes. Close by is the delightful Colemere Country Park, which when taking a scenic walk you will discover wonderful wildlife. Twelve miles south of Cockshutt is the county town of Shrewsbury, set within a giant loop of the River Severn. There’s something for everyone here with over 600 listed buildings, picturesque cobbled alleys and squares, a superb selection of independent and high street shops and plenty of cafes, bars, restaurants and pubs. With the National Trust owned Attingham Park, Wroxeter Roman City and Acton Scott working farm, along with a number of charming villages and towns in the area, makes Cockshutt a convenient base.
