For those interested in local history, take trip to the ruins of Furness Abbey and the Dock Museum at nearby Barrow in Furness, 15 miles away. Take a cruise on Coniston Water, 12 miles away or hire rowing boats, sailing dinghies, canoes or kayaks from Coniston Pier. There are many walks to be had, from easy strolls around the lake to tackling the Old Man of Coniston not for the faint hearted! Two armchairs in here are ideal for enjoying a morning coffee, and there is a handy utility area with a washing machine and separate WC. Upstairs on the first floor are the two bedrooms, both with ample storage and views over the village streets, and the family bathroom. There is a king size bedroom, and the second bedroom has a triple bunk bed, with a double as the bottom bunk and a single as the top bunk, ideal for children and adults alike. The family bathroom has a shower over the bath. From the bunk room, a flight of stairs leads to the games room/snug with table football, books, board games and a TV with DVD along with a selection of DVDs, and four bean bags. Outside there is a quaint, enclosed yard with a table and chairs for al fresco dining. On street parking is available in front of the cottage and there's a secure shed in the yard for storing bikes.
