Set amongst the spectacular Brecon Beacons National Park and within easy reach of the River Usk and the Brecon and Monmouthshire Canal, this Victorian cottage is an idyllic base for exploring. Ideally placed in rural splendour yet close to the A40, you can venture near and far to take in your majestic surroundings at leisure. For those that enjoy outdoor activities there's the Llangorse Activity Centre with its climbing wall and also Cantref Adventure Farm for younger children, both with pony trekking centres. You can hire a kayak and paddle along the nearby Brecon and Monmouth Canal. Cast your line to catch salmon and brown trout on the Usk, or hop on your bike and scale the rolling hills and scenic trails from a new perspective. Talybont on Usk is 2 miles away, where you can visit the reservoir and sample locally brewed beer at one of the welcoming pubs, or visit the village shop and cafe. Escape the elements as you step inside the cosy lounge, kicking off your boots and settling down on the sofas with a glass of wine. An open fire warms the room throughout, and you ll be kept entertained by the selection of DVDs, games and books. The bijou style kitchen/diner has everything you need to whip up light snacks or more elaborate suppers, best enjoyed around the table. Next, the downstairs shower room and a delightful twin offer a quiet sanctuary after the day s adventures. A handy utility room with washing machine offers additional food preparation space. Leading from here is the stairway up to the first floor, with two further bedrooms choose from a snug twin or a comfortable double. Take your meals outside for dinner with a view, relaxing on the patio with a few drinks. Fire up the BBQ and sizzle up something special whilst the children play on the lawn, or sip your morning coffee and savour the sound of birdsong. There s ample parking for two cars, and a plethora of scenic walks leading from your doorstep. On the nights you don t feel like cooking, the nearest pub is a short 1.5 mile drive away, and you can pick up a few essentials at a small shop and post office just 2 miles away in Talybont village.
