Enjoying a truly rural position with far reaching views across the National Park, this detached traditional stone farmhouse with stylish interiors and architect design is perfect for families wanting to embrace the rugged landscapes of the Welsh countryside. The small hamlet of Llandefalle is just 9 miles north of Brecon. Surrounded by countryside and mature woodlands, guests are welcome to explore the many trails that pass by or near to the house. Well positioned for exploring the National Park, you can access the river Wye for kayaking and wild swimming at Llyswen (3 miles) or Glasbury (7 miles) and the foothills of the Black Mountains from Talgarth Common (6 miles) for walking and cycling. Llangorse Lake offers a range of outdoor pursuits including water sports and pony trekking (8 miles). The vibrant market towns of both Hay on Wye and Brecon are close by (10.5 miles and 9 miles) both steeped in history and showcasing local arts and crafts. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery as you navigate your way up to the farmhouse, surrounded by lawned garden, actively managed farmland and with established broadleaf woodlands to the rear. Step inside the side door into a lobby, with cloak cupboard that is a great space for coats and boots which you can leave behind before stepping into the hub of the house. The open plan kitchen diner has a vaulted ceiling and picture windows offering views into the woodlands. This part of the house has a contemporary theme with a modern kitchen that will impress the best of chefs, a breakfast bar where you can enjoy a glass of wine or morning coffee, and a generously sized dining table that s perfect for gathering around after a day embracing the outdoors. There is also the benefit of a utility room and a separate WC. For relaxing, the stylish lounge has a wood burning stove and comfortable seating. This room has many original features and enjoys a front aspect with views onto the Welsh countryside. When it s time to retire, climb the solid oak staircase to the first floor where guests have the choice of two beautifully finished rooms: a large king size room situated to the front of the house with an en suite bathroom, and a cosy double room with en suite shower room to the rear of the house that enjoys woodland views. An open staircase leads up to a twin bedroom that is perfect for teenagers, again with an en suite shower room. Outside, the gardens have an open aspect onto the countryside, there is a dining area with table and chairs to the side of the house. To the front is a bench where you can enjoy the morning sunshine.
