addremove
Surrounded by paddocks of grazing sheep, this charming property offers a slice of rural Welsh life and is a great spot for stargazing. Pack a picnic and set out on foot to follow the footpaths of the Old Roman Road that leads straight up to the main peaks of the Brecon Beacons. For a less strenuous stroll, walk to the picturesque church of St Mary s to begin a wonderful woodland walk along the Afon Cynrig, which is adorned with seasonal snowdrops and bluebells. Cyclists will enjoy following the famous 55 mile long Taff Trail, while equestrians should head for Cantref Riding Centre, only 1 mile away. Stock up on supplies in the cathedral town of Brecon (4 miles), which offers a good choice of supermarkets, shops and eateries. Inside, this tastefully converted barn retains plenty of traditional charm and appeal, through exposed beams, oak flooring and original windows. Prepare romantic meals for two in the newly fitted light grey country style kitchen, which contains an electric oven and hob, microwave, coffee machine, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Once prepared, dine at the table in the light and spacious sitting room where a feature wall with picture window frames far reaching rural views. At the end of a long day on foot, unwind on the leather sofa to enjoy a relaxing evening making the most of the Smart TV with Sky Bluetooth boombox with DAB radio cassette and CD player, while the flame effect electric fire creates a cosy atmosphere. Upstairs, a spacious king size bedroom with sloping ceilings is adorned with Welsh wool blankets if needed, sheepskin rugs and a Sky smart TV. There is also a shower room. Stepping outside, the sheltered private patio area with garden seating is stocked with pretty flowers and shrubs, making it the perfect spot to enjoy an evening BBQ overlooking the wildflower meadow and wildlife pond. Just across the road is a further seating area with a rockery which overlooks a small lake in the meadow, a well established habitat for wildlife such as herons, ducks and Canadian geese. There is ample off road parking.
