The pretty, red brick village of Brailsford lies at the southern end of the Peak District, close to both Ashbourne and Derby. The village has a lovely community spirit and country atmosphere, offering a Post Office, a pub and a small village shop. Awash with stunning architecture, the village boasts two 20th Century country homes, the Jacobean-style Brailsford Hall, and Culland Hall, along with Brailsford Church, originally built in the 11th century. The market town of Ashbourne is just six miles away and has much to offer with its fine Georgian buildings, quaint cobbled streets, restaurants, inns and antique centres, attracting visitors from miles around. For those with an appetite for outdoor pursuits, Carsington Water, the Dove and Manifold Valleys and Chatsworth are all close by. A quiet, relaxing location, with nearby attractions to please all the family.
