As you approach this Renaissance-era building and step through the impressive cross-vaulted entrance, you might have a certain idea of what the apartment looks like and we're willing to bet that it's slightly different to the reality.

Designed by renowned local architectural firm Iosa Ghini Associati, the interior is firmly contemporary in style, with monochrome walls, bare wooden floorboards and a glass fireplace. The large kitchen and bathroom are full of subtle lighting and sleek surfaces, but the home's real standout feature is the Jacuzzi built into the floor, which provides a unique spot in which to relax after a long day of walking around the city.

Another great thing about the apartment is that many of Bologna's best attractions are a short walk away. The Museo Civico Medievale is a mere three-minute stroll from the front door, while the famous Two Towers and their viewing platforms are only ten minutes away.
