Garden Cottage is a ground floor, holiday cottage situated in Black Bourton, Oxfordshire. It is adjacent to the magnificent Shillbrook Manor, which was built around the 1860’s. The property has undergone a complete renovation and today provides stunning accommodation with views across a two acre garden. OWNER ONLY TAKES FRIDAY ARRIVALS FOR 7 DAYS. The cottage is situated on the edge of the hamlet of Black Bourton, which dates backs to 1086. Internally, there is an open-plan living room and dining area with French doors that lead out to the terrace, as well as a fitted kitchen. There is one double bedroom with an en suite shower room and WC. Outside has shared use of a landscaped garden area, an enclosed terrace with furniture and a barbecue provided. The owner, who is a garden designer, is also a keen horticulturalist and is very happy to sell plants in addition to eggs and homemade preserves. Off road parking is available. Garden Cottage is the perfect spot for those interested in historical landmarks.

The St. Mary the Virgin Church in Black Bourton, which houses magnificent wall murals from the 13th century that were painstakingly unearthed in 1932, offers a great gastropub. The West Oxfordshire Arts Gallery is only one of the numerous sites of interest in the surrounding village of Bampton, which serves as one of the main filming locations for Downton Abbey. Oxford is only 21 miles away, and Burford, the "gateway" to the Cotswolds, is conveniently located. a great starting point for exploring this stunning area.
