In the small hamlet of Harracott sits this cosy North Devon cottage. You ll be adjacent to the owners' Grade II listed thatched farmhouse in the rolling countryside amongst 2.5 acres of shared gardens. The regional capital of Barnstaple is just 5 miles away, offering a range of shops, cafes, restaurants, a theatre and a cinema. For those who like to spend time exploring the great outdoors, Exmoor National Park is just 9 miles away, offering scenic walks, cycleways and coastal paths. The property provides easy access to the popular Tarka Trail within the local village, Bishops Tawton (under 3 miles), where you can park your car and venture on foot or bike. Beach lovers will be spoilt for choice, with Westward Ho!, Saunton Sands, Croyde, and Woolacombe all within 17 miles. Other places of interest include Exmoor Zoo, Combe Martin Wildlife Park, RHS Rosemoor Gardens and Dartington Crystal (all within 17 miles). As you enter the cottage, you immediately find yourself in the open plan lounge/kitchen/diner with low ceilings and exposed beams showcasing a true country style. The cottage is amply equipped with everything you need to cater for your stay, and as you pass the dining area with table and chairs, the comfortable lounge area can be seen with a sofa, chairs, a Smart TV and homely touches. Heading up the open tread oak wooden staircase leads to the spacious first floor which has two bedrooms: a spacious king size room and a further 2'6 twin zip and link (which can be made into a king size on request at the time of booking). The compact bathroom completes the accommodation. Venture outside to the front of the property and up a couple of steps to the lawn with seating and a pathway that leads out into the shared gardens and a fishpond (children and pets must be supervised). There is a shared gazebo with seating and lighting. Outside the utility barn, there is a shared dog shower with a low level Belfast sink, ideal for washing off muddy paws and boots. There is also access to a shared dog exercising field with breathtaking countryside views over to Codden Hill, while adjacent to the field is a small, wooded area with seating great for dogs and children looking to explore
