You can also visit the RNLI Museum which is dedicated to the famous local heroine, Grace Darling, or St. Aidan s Church, the site of which dates back to 635, which has a fascinating history and links to the origins of Christianity in Britain. There s also a choice of excellent shops, tearooms, pubs and restaurants. Nearby are the picturesque bird sanctuary of Budle Bay, and the enigmatic Holy Island of Lindisfarne, one of Northumberland s most haunting highlights.
