Area
Ballyconneely, a little village, has witnessed important historical events. Alcock and Brown made the first transatlantic flight in 1919, landing two miles away. The first transmission across the Atlantic was sent in 1907 using the Marconi Wireless station, which was near to the landing site. Today, the serene area is well-known for the yearly pony show and for being close to the renowned Connemara Links championship golf course. This is a top vacation spot that is close to the exciting town of Clifden and the magnificent Connemara National Park.
