Ashford on the Water is a picture postcard, popular Derbyshire village, located in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Offering two country pubs and a village shop which has a long tradition of welcoming visitors, serving food and drink. Indulge in the restful surroundings and take a picnic along the banks of the River Wye by the Sheepwash Bridge. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are just a short drive away, meander through the shops and cafes of the pretty market town of Bakewell or simply head up into the Monsal Dale and enjoy the outstanding scenery on foot. Enter the cottage via the pretty street which leads into the cosy lounge, with a beautiful cottage interior finish and traditional stone fireplace with wood burner, ideal to curl up in front of after a day of hiking. Watch a movie on the Smart TV (with Sky, Netflix and Apple TV), or get stuck into a good book on the window seat. At the rear of the cottage is the kitchen, rustle up a hearty breakfast or evening meal in the electric oven and gas hob, a handy pantry in the hallway has a fridge with ice compartment and microwave, plus space for coats and shoes. Head up the first set of stairs to the double bedroom, another lovely space to relax in with armchair or window seat. Continue up the next set of stairs to the twin bedroom and bathroom which features a shower over the rolled top bath and WC, perfect for a long soak after a long days walking. Outside is a traditional laundry room accessed via the courtyard having a washing machine and tumble dryer. Bike storage is available in the private lock up. The communal courtyard is a lovely spot to sit and enjoy your morning brew. There is roadside parking, subject to availability.
