There are many miles of walks to be enjoyed in the area, catering to all fitness levels, including scenic lakeside strolls and challenging hikes and climbs. The most famous of the lakes, Windermere, is accessed via the ferry situated just a short drive from the property and is a great place to enjoy browsing the shops and perhaps stocking up on picnic supplies before spending a day on the water. Around the lake there are several places to hire boats and other watercrafts or to hop on board one of the leisure cruises which run up and down the water at a relaxing pace, allowing visitors to fully appreciate the beautiful surroundings. There is abundance of birdlife, plenty of activities and cycle rides straight from the door. Guests will immediately get a sense of just how special this property is, as soon as they climb the steps and enter the grand hallway with its imposing staircase.
