The Coastal Kaleidoscope

We absolutely love the feel of this house. Combining authentic Portuguese charm with quirky touches such as the mosaic detailing in the living/dining and the carefully curated collection of colourful art, as soon as you enter you get a real sense of the home's unique identity and can tell how much love and care has been put into the finishing and maintaining of it.

With three twin bedrooms, one double, and two extra sleeping places in the communal areas of the home, we think it would be ideal for extended family groups or a friends' getaway, whilst its prime location close to the restaurants, bars, and cafés of this part of Albufeira – as well as just 500 metres from the nearest sandy beach – make it a great base for a special holiday in the Algarvian sun.

Start your day with a dip in the inviting turquoise waters of the swimming pool as the scent of the lemon trees warming in the sun begins to hang heavier in the air, before enjoying a leisurely breakfast on one of the numerous terraces. Perhaps you'll go to the beach, or into town to check out the shops and sample some of the fresh seafood delicacies on offer. Or maybe you'll finally make a dent in that book. No matter how your day pans out, come together in the evening by the traditional wood-fired barbecue to enjoy a homecooked feast of delectable local produce picked up from a local supermarket.

One of our favourites has got to be the flavourful chicken piri-piri from this region. So why not try to replicate those spicy, savoury flavours before grilling it to perfection –yourself? Though you could always just head down towards the strip and get a taste of the real thing if you've hung up your chef's hat for the week...
