Wymondham abbey is on route into the town; known as one of the finest and most interesting historic churches in East Anglia. Other amenities include a leisure centre with swimming pool and nearby there are privately owned fishing lakes at Barford with day tickets available. The quieter seaside resorts of Southwold and Aldeburgh can be reached within an hour or the famous Broads, for day boat hire, are within easy reach. The fine city of Norwich with theatres, a castle, museums and a cathedral is only 9 miles away, and easy accessible by the 19th Century train station in Wymondham.
