Carnew is a market town situated in the extreme south of County Wicklow, almost on the County Wexford border. Carnew Castle, dating back to Norman times, enables you to take a step back into Irish history. For walkers, the Wicklow Way is only minutes away and the nearby Tomnafinnoge Oak Wood, one of the largest remaining oak woods in Ireland, makes a lovely spot for an autumn stroll. Carnew is 5 minutes from Coolattin’s magnificent 18-hole golf course and woodland horse riding while slightly further afield, the Wicklow Mountains, city of Dublin, and 'Ballykissangel' village of Avoca make superb destinations for an enjoyable day trip. Carnew is ideally located as a touring base for a range of interesting outings in an area steeped in history, natural beauty and culture. A scenic and peaceful choice for your Ireland adventures.
