addremove
This charming cottage, set over three floors is perched conveniently on Quay Hill in an excellent position in the heart of the bustling village just on the edge of the beautiful Fowey harbour with the village café, 2 pubs and local shop on your door step. Polruan still retains all of its original character as a working village with the traditional boatyard nearby which dates back to the Armada. There are extensive views over the estuary across to Fowey. Polruan is steeped in history and benefits from two village pubs and a passenger ferry that will take you across to Fowey which is known as the centre of sailing. Further afield there are plenty of places to visit and things to do, why not visit the tall ships at Charlestown, take the brewery tour in St Austell or visit the Eden project. There are also numerous National Trust sites in Cornwall such as Lanhydrock in Bodmin. Upon entering the cosy cottage, you will find yourself in the open plan kitchen/dining area, fitted with double oven and ceramic hob, dishwasher, washing machine and a dining table which can seat up to four guests. From the kitchen, a feature spiral staircase leads down to a king size bedroom with en suite shower room, chest of drawers, two bedside cabinets with reading lights and a wardrobe. Meanwhile, on the second floor, you can find the lounge with a feature fireplace and plenty of comfy seating. There is a Smart TV however with the impressive views across the quay to Fowey, you may find that you don t need it. Conveniently, there is a W/C with hand basin also on the second floor. Through a low, arched doorway from the lounge, you will find the second bedroom which has two 3' single beds, a chest of drawers and bed side lights. The access to this room is via a small low arched doorway ideally better suited to children however some adults may find it small but cosy. Although there is no outside space at the cottage, the Coal Wharf and Polruan Quay is just a stones throw away from the cottage, where there is seating and picnic tables arranged to enjoy the wonderful scenery and activities that the river has to offer. Parking is available near to the cottage alongside the harbour, though this can get busy, and also from the St Saviours and Quay car parks which are further up the hill with the larger of the two car parks situated at the top of the village, approximately 10 minutes walk away; both have electric hook up charging points Weekly tickets can be purchased for both car parks. there is a village bus available to transport should you wish to use it. feel free to unload outside the property.
