There are a number of beautiful Georgian buildings in and around the Borders town of Kelso, which is situated at the confluence of the Tweed and Teviot rivers. Visit William Adam's Floors Castle, a well-known stately home complete with restaurants and gardens. Mellerstain House, Kelso Abbey, and the Kelso Races are all within a few miles of each other. Stunning examples of Georgian architecture can be found in Mellerstain House. The home of the 13th Earl of Haddington was designed by William Adam and his son Robert in 1725.
