Gosforth is a charming and historic village with several pubs and a restaurant, and is a fantastic base for exploring a spellbinding corner of Cumbria. A wealth of trails and bridleways offers miles of stunning walks, with the beautiful Victorian seaside village of Seascale within easy reach (3 miles). Other local landmarks and attractions include Muncaster Castle (6.5 miles), the Ravenglass and Eskdale Steam Railway (5.5 miles), Hardknott Roman Fort (11 miles) and the sand dunes at Drigg (4 miles). Heading east, you can dive into the Lake District, with the beautiful Eskdale nearby (5.5 miles), and the Wasdale Valley leading to the glorious expanses of Wast Water (6.5 miles) and on to England s highest mountain, Scafell Pike (9 miles). Entering this spacious, bright and welcoming cottage, the porch area is perfect for leaving your shoes and hanging up your coats. This leads through to the light and friendly kitchen/diner, a fresh and sociable space perfect for cooking and enjoying a fabulous family meal. The warm and fully equipped kitchen has wooden worktops, original stone flooring a dishwasher, microwave, oven and hob, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer. Moving over to the dining area, here you will find a dining table, feature fireplace, wooden floorboards and a stereo with a wide selection of LPs. The pretty lounge is a lovely space to unwind in, with plenty of comfortable seating, a warming wood burner set in a sandstone fireplace, and SkyTV/DVD with a selection of films for you to enjoy on a quiet evening. Heading upstairs, the first floor offers three cosy and relaxing bedrooms, which have been tastefully decorated and have a range of attractive antique features. There s a light and restful king size room, a fantastic super king size zip and link which can be made up as a twin on request, and a small bunk bedroom. The first floor also has a stylish bathroom complete with a shower over the bath and a WC. Stepping outside, the partially enclosed garden features a raised lawn with a charming patio with outdoor furniture, providing an ideal spot for al fresco dining on a sunny afternoon. Off road parking is available for a large car or for two carefully parked small cars, with one blocked in.
