Whereas once upon a time luxurious interiors were defined by ostentatious maximalism, today a less-is-more approach reigns supreme. You only have to take a look at this apartment sat within Jumeirah Golf Estate to see what we mean. Here, the colour palette of stark whites and muted greys make for an interior that's both cooling and cool, while the furnishings are pared-back and all the more chic for it. Copious amounts of natural light from the large windows make it an instantly bright and welcoming space, too.

Keen golfers probably noticed the mention of the G-word up above and will be happy to hear that there are two courses on the estate. Those not so enthusiastic about the sport should hopefully be won over by the presence of plentiful shops, restaurants and bars, as well as the country club and gym.

Further afield, many of Dubai's famous attractions can be easily reached. The city's marina and the Palm Jumeirah both take about twenty minutes to reach in the car, as do the selection of beaches that lie along the stretch of coastline close to these two landmarks.
