The property is conveniently situated along the main village road in the heart of the small, friendly village of Cerne Abbas, home of the Cerne Abbas Giant hillside chalk figure. The village itself has plenty to offer, including three welcoming pubs, a traditional Dorset tearoom and a shop/Post Office. There is an extensive range of public footpaths and bridleways throughout the village, perfect for exploring this stunning pocket of countryside in the heart of central Dorset. Just seven miles away is the historic market town of Dorchester, while the Jurassic Coast and seaside resorts of Weymouth, Swanage and Lyme Regis are all within easy reach. Other attractions include Monkey World, The Tank Museum, Durdle Door, Lulworth Castle, Corfe Castle, Abbotsbury Swannery, the abbey town of Sherborne and much more. Inside, this charming cottage has been sympathetically updated to offer fresh and bright accommodation with plenty of original features retained. Stepping through the front door takes you straight into the charming lounge, which is a cosy and welcoming room for relaxing after a long day. Here you will find an exposed brick fireplace with a wood burner, selection of books to choose from, TV/DVD and exposed beams. A step up from the lounge takes you into the light and airy kitchen/diner which overlooks the pretty cottage garden through French doors. The kitchen is well equipped and includes an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and there is ample room around the farmhouse table to enjoy casual meals. From the lounge, cottage style stairs lead up to the first floor where a double bedroom with exposed beams and a Victorian iron bed sits at the front of the property and a twin bedroom overlooks the garden at the rear of the cottage. The bedrooms share a bathroom on the first floor which has a handheld shower over the bath. Step outside from the kitchen onto a pretty patio area with garden furniture for enjoying al fresco meals. From here, six steps lead up to an enclosed lawn area surrounded by mature trees and shrubs.
