In close second place, the sparkling infinity swimming pool and elevated terrace area serve guests beautifully as a mesmerising alfresco dining and chill-out area. Meanwhile, the traditional stone walls blend into the natural environment amidst shrubs, flowers and trees planted to restore the original landscape.

Inside, the use of natural materials and features, including an eco-friendly fireplace, create an admirable space to enjoy, almost as much as the outside. During the daytime, heaps of sunlight floods through the space, inviting guests to take advantage of the panoramic views from every room in the home. Over in the bedrooms, a relaxed and soothing atmosphere can be created with dimmer lights and coloured glass for a truly blissful night's sleep. Once you're feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, it goes without saying that a trip out to the famous Falasarna Beach (a seven-minute drive away) should be on the cards. Then, on the way back to the villa, call into the village of Kissamos for a bite to eat or a drink at one of the local tavernas.
