This property is located close to the picture postcard ancient town of Kirkby Lonsdale. It is perfectly positioned in the South Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales National Park, making this a great base to enjoy all outdoor pursuits, in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Kirkby Lonsdale boasts an excellent range of eateries, friendly pubs and bespoke shops. Visit Ruskins view and the famous Devils Bridge. Explore the nearby stunning Ingleton Waterfalls Trail and Ingleborough and White Scar Caves. The Silverdale and Arnside area is also close by with spectacular views over Morecambe Bay. Heading inland, other hidden gems include Dentdale with yet more glorious scenery and a charming rural museum and coffee shop (located in Dent village). The creamery at Hawes is also well worth a visit. Travel a little further afield and visit the splendid shores of Lake Windermere, where you can explore the lake on a historic steamboat. Or enjoy family days out at the Lakeland Wildlife Oasis. There are lots of places to explore on foot nearby; ranging from bracing walks in the fells taking in spectacular views, to more leisurely walks along the beautiful river Lune at Kirkby Lonsdale. You don t even need to take the car since there s a charming walk next to the Old Dairy leading to the village of Cowan Bridge. For those who enjoy more challenging climbs there is always the three peaks challenge to consider; (Inglebrough, Whernside, and Pen y Ghent.) If you would like to see the farm the owners would love to show you around on a guided tour. Depending on the time of year you can visit the lambs, have a ramble in the bluebell wood, watch the highland cattle, visit ancient trees, see pigs being fed in Thackbarn Wood, or take a look one of the many other seasonal activities which may be taking place during your visit (such as sileage making). Farm tours can be arranged once your holiday begins. The Old Dairy has been specially designed to be a welcoming and restful place for holiday makers. This is immediately apparent when stepping inside this lovely detached property which has cosy underfloor heating throughout the ground floor. Moving into the hall, there is the perfect place to store your outdoor clothing. The hall leads through to a light and bright spacious lounge with a large window which looks out across the fields and valley. Spectacular sunsets can be seen through this window. While you are admiring the wonderful views relax on the comfortable sofas, and enjoy a great movie on the Smart TV, or listen to your music on the Bluetooth speaker. In the lounge there is a lovely wood burner for cosy nights in. The French doors lead directly out to the enclosed patio area with picnic table and BBQ. Next is the bespoke and spacious well equipped kitchen, ideal for cooking up a storm with two electric ovens and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and a handy dishwasher. Directly followed by the lovely dining area with large dining table and ample seating, to enjoy family meals together. There are also three individually decorated bedrooms on the on the ground floor. A double with en suite shower room and WC, a twin, and a king size zip and link (which can be made up as a 2 6 twin on request). Finally, completing the ground floor is the stylish shower room, with large walk in shower and WC. Heading up the stairs to the first floor you are met with the master king size bedroom with ample storage space and en suite Jack and Jill bathroom with bath, separate shower and WC. Next is the mezzanine floor with seating area and fantastic picture window to enjoy those lovely views. There is also a double sofa bed and access to the Jack and Jill bathroom. Finally, completing the accommodation is the handy utility area with washing machine and tumble dryer. Venturing outside is the enclosed patio area with direct access from the lounge. Here you can enjoy wonderful countryside views. This area is perfect for al fresco dining and, with low levels of night time light pollution, a chance to spend a lazy evening stargazing. Also a great activity for all guests to enjoy, have a game of table tennis in the converted stable. There is ample off road parking available. On the ground floor the main areas of the property are accessible for guests with limited mobility (including access to 2 bedrooms, a shower room with w/c, kitchen & main lounge).
