Back inside, the original wooden beams and stone fireplace will soon have you feeling all warm and relaxed. Sink into a brown chesterfield sofa, cradle a cup of hot cocoa, and settle down for a delightful evening in front of the crackling log burning stove – we can think of nothing better after an adventurous day wandering the natural landscape. In warmer months, sprawl out into the back garden and enjoy a bottle of fizz while overlooking views of the Three Peaks area of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. As dinner time arrives, ensure you take the short five-minute drive down to The Courtyard Dairy, where you can taste local cheeses and sample their cakes and buns while enjoying a cup of tea or coffee. Return home with your top picks, and fix together a wine and cheese night in the country-style dining area. Or if you feel like handing over all catering duties during your stay, the cottage is next door to a traditional Yorkshire pub, while an award-winning hotel and restaurant is a short walk up the road.
