Salt Lake Safari

Outside, this luxury villa is all the sugar-cube splendour of a traditional Cycladic house. Inside, it’s a soothing haven of natural accents and boho charm. Moulded stone balconies and slate-coloured garden walls blend into the backdrop and the view from the terrace out over Naxos’ wildlife-filled salt lake towards the shimmering Aegean. It’s here you’ll find the private swimming pool, inviting you for a dip in the heat of the day.

There’s an African safari vibe to the interior, with a palette of all the colours of the Sahara, from linen curtains to antelope-brown walls. Each gilded hardback book, pot plant and wicker lampshade feels as though it’s been hand-selected just for the space. There are three living rooms to choose from, should the group wish to spread out. Bedrooms are a soothing medley of fawn, coffee and cream and we love the bamboo divider separating the en-suite from the master.

If you're not lounging by the private pool or socialising in the hotel bar, perhaps head into the beachy village of Agios Prokopios. It's a ten-minute walk away and you'll find a handful of charming tavernas and a soft-sanded beach with turquoise shallows.
